About Jonas Creek
A semi-open, forested campsite with 5 sites available for tents/small RV's/trailers located near the village of Telkwa. This site sits near the confluence of Jonas Creek and the beautiful Telkwa River, an important headwater system for salmon and steelhead. Popular for hunting and fishing during the fall months, please consult BC hunting/fishing regulations for more information. Also, a popular staging area for offroad vehicles
doing the infamous Telkwa Pass!
Please avoid taking vehicles down to the river as it disturbs fish/wildlife habitat and be aware of the eroding river bank danger. In Canada, fish habitat is protected under the Federal Fisheries Act. Any alteration, disruption or destruction of fish habitat is a violation of the Fisheries Act. Violations can be reported to Fisheries and Oceans Canada at 1-800-465-4336 or to the provincial RAPP line at 1-877-952-7277
Please be sure to purchase a fishing licence and consult the BC Freshwater Fishing Regulations Synopsis for limits, special regulations and closures: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/assets/gov/sports-recreation-arts-and-culture/outdoor-recreation/fishing-and-hunting/freshwater-fishing/region_6_skeena.pdf
