The Skookum Creek Branch of the Mamquam FSR continues to be under Construction. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as public safety remains our top priority. Construction will take place Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm. September 21st to October 9th 2026. Passage must be escorted by a worksite attendant or safe passage confirmed by worksite foreman. Call or text 778-266-3085 before your trip to provide your expected arrival time. Wait at the marked construction zone entrance for an attendant to escort you through/confirm safe passage
Watersprite Lake Recreation Site is a popular day use and overnight camping destination East of Squamish. The site offers overnight camping around Watersprite lake, impressive views, mountaineering and alpine hiking opportunities. Dogs must be kept on leash in the camping area and must be kept out of sensitive habitat. The grassy marsh areas around the lake are particularly sensitive.

Turn east off of HWY 99 just north of the Stawanamus Chief on to the Mamquam FSR. Follow this road to 12.5 km. where you cross over the Mamquam River. After another .5 km you will cross Skookum Creek, take the next left onto the Skookum Creek access road. Follow this road to the Watersprite Lake Trailhead, located at the end of the road.
This is a 4x4 road, do not attempt it in a low clearance vehicle.
