Campground host jobs in Quebec

Quebec campground work is spread across Sépaq parks and wildlife reserves, ZECs run by local nonprofit managers, regional parks run by corporations, cooperatives and MRC partners, Indigenous managers, municipalities and Parks Canada. Most jobs are paid seasonal roles such as reception, maintenance and site management, usually advertised in French.

How campgrounds are run in Quebec

ZECs (zones d'exploitation contrôlée)

ZECs are hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation territories managed by local nonprofit organizations; the Réseau Zec federation lists 63 of them. Each ZEC hires its own staff for reception stations, campgrounds and maintenance. The shared Réseau Zec jobs board carries their notices, but the employer is the ZEC named in each notice.

Regional parks (parcs régionaux)

An MRC can create a regional park without owning all the land, so the landowner, sponsor and employer can be different organizations. Parks are run by nonprofit corporations, development societies and cooperatives such as Poisson Blanc, Kiamika, Matawinie and Vallée Bras-du-Nord. Apply to the operating organization.

Sépaq parks and wildlife reserves

Sépaq runs Quebec's parcs nationaux and many réserves fauniques and hires seasonal staff through one careers site. Not every wildlife reserve is Sépaq: TERFA runs Duchénier and Corporation Nibiischii runs Albanel-Mistassini-et-Waconichi.

Northern and Indigenous managers

Corporation Nibiischii manages reserves near Mistissini and Chibougamau, and the Kativik Regional Government runs Nunavik Parks. These employers may give priority to community members or Inuit, and work conditions differ from road-access southern campgrounds.

Public land camping is not a job

Rustic camping on public land is allowed under provincial rules, but that does not mean a caretaker or staffed campground exists. Look for a named managing organization with a visitor-service operation.

Paid jobs, volunteer hosting and contracts

Paid seasonal jobs are the main route (reception, maintenance, housekeeping, patrol, site management) at Sépaq, ZECs, regional parks, Nibiischii, KRG, municipalities and Parks Canada. No province-wide volunteer campground-host program was found; Parc du Massif du Sud has a volunteer patrol that is not a host program. No open campground operating tender was found; Sépaq and public bodies post contracts on SEAO.
