Nature

Fish and the lake's recovery

Bass, walleye, perch and muskie are reported in Little Lake 6. Sawmill waste and later industrial chemical disposal polluted the lake; a 1989 study found PCB contamination, levels declined over decades of monitoring, and in June 2018 public health officials said the lake was safe for swimming and fishing 6.

Water

Little Lake and the Trent-Severn

The marina is waterfront on Little Lake, with direct boat access through the Otonabee River to the Trent-Severn Waterway, which Otonabee Conservation describes as linking 134 lakes along 386 km 1. Little Lake covers about 64 hectares; the Otonabee River flows south through it, joined by Jackson Creek, and on to Rice Lake, and the Trent Canal rejoins the river in the lake 6.
